How To Overcome Suicidal Thoughts
According to the Mental Health Foundation and Practice, suicide is the biggest cause of death for men under the age of 45 in the UK. In women suicide rates are the highest that they have been in a decade. Someone committed suicide every two hours in the UK in 2015.
This statistics is quite alarming.
The problem is even worse because most people facing crisis in life find it difficult to reach out for help. Oftentimes such people tragically take their own lives.
Today you can save a life by inspiring and encouraging someone, instead of complaining about what you don't have or how you failed to hit it big.
Majority of the people you see on the the streets and even on the social media sites, have long given up on life.
You see, behind the facade of those smiles and bravado we all display, especially in the public, lies pains and mountains of issues too high to climb.
The question is how can you cope?
May be life has knocked you down with sickness, depression, debts, death of loved ones, divorce, heartbreak, fear, and all sorts of pressures and challenges.
Whether you are on the verge of giving up or perhaps you are facing overwhelming challenges at the moment, It is time to rise again and say to yourself, "I refuse to give up because I am born to win! I have greatness in me!. Nothing can stop me from fulfilling my purpose in life and when this temporary challenge is over I will be the only one still standing.
"There can't be champions without a competition."
Whether you are facing crisis now or not, it makes no difference, because as long as you are in this world, there will always be personal and societal issues to deal with.
"Tough times don't last but those that persevere to the end, shall have the last laugh, because; "weeping may last through the night but joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5.
Never take a long term view on any issue in life based on short term challenges, because no matter how dark it gets, the sun will always rise again.
Therefore, it matters how you process and react to any negative information. The seed you sow in your mind could either programme you for success or failure, especially when facing crisis. In other words your life will go in the direction of your dominant thoughts, because as a man thinks in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7).
This why the scripture gave us guidance on what to think about; “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
