A Lifetime Decision
Recently I was reflecting on the reality of life after death.
This topic has been one of the most intriguing and debated topics of all ages.
My point of reflection, was based on the premise that every human being is a spirit with a soul that lives in a physical body.
The soul is the embodiment of the human mind, emotion and intellect.
This premise was based on the biblical and biological fact that man is an intellectual being, created in the image and likeness of the Almighty God. In Genesis chapter 1, God created the spirit-man, and in Genesis 2, God formed the physical man from the earth (humus) & hence the word "human being".
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7 KJV
When a person dies, the physical body ceases to exist in the physical realm but the spirit never dies, because it continues to exist in the spiritual realm for eternity.
The good news is that God desires that all humanity will spend eternity in heaven with Him.
However, the choice of where you will spend eternity is decided only by yourself; starting with what you believe in your heart and affirm with your mouth.
Followed by your personal (not religious rituals) relationship with God.
This is because God has already made the provision for all humanity to spend eternity in heaven through the gift of Salvation. The scripture puts it this way;
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10 KJV).
However, we are now now living in an era where this precious free gift of salvation has been commercialised, perverted and manipulated for religious, personal and misleading purposes.
Many people have been led astray by the seemingly nice sounding religious and non religious doctrines and opinions, which often detract from the biblical path to salvation.
Some have been deceived by the promise that they can only get saved by their financial donations (seed/offerings & tithes), acts of personal penance, membership or affiliation of various organisations and praying to God through various media.
But the scripture says; "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; [6] Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."
1Timothy 2:5-6
"Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6 NIV.
In conclusion, life is not just physical but also spiritual.
Every one of us was created to fulfill a unique purpose, in accordance with the gifts bestowed on each person by the Creator.
However, we have been given a limited time on earth to fulfill that purpose.
Once your time is up, your spirit shall depart this physical world to meet the Creator for accountability.
"And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment." Hebrew 9:27
I hope this exposition would facilitate a discussion, to help someone reflect on the purpose of his or her life and where the person would like to spend enternity.
Much love from,
